1.
I've been wrestling with my thoughts most every night Wondering how I believed that we could make it right Lights flicker with the swan song It's two-o-clock, but the night is still young So I find a lonely bar and step inside But I'm alright without you One more drink to ease the pain Yes I'm alright without you I'm starting over Gonna drown in all this alcohol and drift away And when I'm sober At least I know that I can start a new day Closing time and I stumble out in the dawn Wishing I could call you up and talk about it, but I was way too gone In the morning I'll be forced to face the sun Light of day will hit like a freight train on the run But the hurt won't measure up to what you've done
2.
Underground 03:09
I saw you standing there with your headphones on, and a torn hole in your jeans Surrounded by a hundred eyes, but did you see me In this crowded elevator Won't you take us down Let's go underground See the world beneath our feet Let's go underground We'll have it all to ourselves The deeper we go the more gravity pulls us So let's go, go down Let's go underground Underground Let the subway cars replace the stars as we dodge the lights And several miles later, we won't know where we are Though time has stopped, the clock keeps ticking So let's not waste a second We'll both get lost between the rails And hope we don't get stuck by nails Just me and you and everyone we know We know
3.
My Everyone 03:35
You're the card I'm holding up my sleeve Only ace in the hole I'll ever need Cause when the river shows and all my chips are down That's when I'll need you around Cause people fall in love and I've seen the spark And they don't compare to us, no they miss the mark At the end of the day, when it's all said and done You're my everyone You are my sinner, and you're my priest You're my hunger pains, and you're my feast You are my argument, and my resolve The remedy to all of my faults Day after day and hour by hour We'd sit and we'd wait, wait for the showers To be on their way But I know that sun will shine With you by my side, I won't ever feel alone No I won't
4.
The Way Home 04:15
Don't know how it starts, but you know the feeling Suddenly you're pressed up against a ceiling We've been through this before But here we go again, running 'round in circles Ready on your mark to jump these hurdles And end up on the floor No sense of direction We've lost the way home But I don't wanna be alone We've lost the way home Don't wanna be alone Sleep until you're numb and the light starts fading Try and slow it down, but days are racing And time won't wait for us You're ready to move on, but you're still uncertain Coming to the close, the final curtain A stage reduced to dust Help me to find my way 'Cause I need to find my way home
5.
In this house, there's an attic, a portal to the past With tired walls and broken toys, the rug is fading fast Boxes of photos, labeled by the year Some containing moments of when you still were here I remember you'd say Though it seems so far away Keep your eyes on sunny skies See her smile in a photo, but I remember tears And here, he's a champion though he lost for years Could've been a starlet, but she never left this town He, man of the year, but the bottle brought him down I remember you'd say Though it seems so far away Bring back a memory When we began our story No glimpse or worry of what we would become Where did the fire go Now that you left me solo I'm hanging on to the words I know
6.
5:24 05:43
She walked out at 5:24 In a black dress and her hair to the floor I could barely see in the fading light But I'm sure she could We got back home at 5:24 A half day gone, no less, no more I could finally see with the rising sun But she turned it out She left on the 5:24 Some empty bags, a note on the door And I swear heard through the dark of night The train pull away On the 5:24 One way to the shore It's all you understand anymore On the 5:24 On the 5:24 One way to the shore It's all you ever wanted to live for On the 5:24 Booked a ride on the 5:24 I'd like to view the sea

about

www.kevinchambersmusic.com

In the months following his initial EP, he began writing songs for another release and was performing a show each month by the beginning of 2015. At a radio gig in mid-March, however, he suddenly had a debilitating headache and blacked out a few minutes before going on air. About a week later, he came to in the hospital and learned that he had had a stroke. An AVM/aneurysm had burst near the speech center in his brain, and he would need surgery, speech rehab, and physical therapy to recover.

Following a couple weeks in the hospital and a few weeks of rehab, he was lucky enough to receive brain surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Miraculously, the surgery was a complete success and he began his recovery immediately. Returning to the stage just 5 months later, he played Musikfest 2015 in Bethlehem, PA, before moving down to Nashville.

As the year came to a close, he launched a Kickstarter to help him record his second EP. Several of these songs had been put on hold as he recovered from his health issues. With the dawn of 2016, a successful Kickstarter campaign propelled him into recording and releasing his second EP, entitled Starting Over. The EP is a collection of sketches about a 20-something year old kid from North Carolina figuring out life and love in New York City - from remembering an old friend when you just need to see a familiar face, to trying to find the words to tell someone how much you love them.
